Copy and paste, and files
Copy and paste
While you're connected, text and pictures you copy on the PC reach the device you're using, and the other way round.
- On a computer: copy on the PC and press Ctrl+V on your computer, or copy on your computer and press Ctrl+V in the viewer.
- On a phone: when something is copied on the PC, tap Tap to copy when it appears. To paste on the PC, use Paste to PC in the key row.
- Pictures can be up to 10 MB, such as a screenshot. Copied files aren't sent this way; use Files, below.
- Some browsers ask whether DextraDesk may use the clipboard. Click Allow.
- To stop sharing the clipboard, turn it off in the viewer's Settings.
- Nothing is shared while the PC shows its sign-in or lock screen, or an administrator prompt.
Sending files to the PC
- Drag files onto the picture, or click Files and choose them. On a phone, Files lets you pick photos or files.
- They land in the PC's Downloads folder, and the PC shows a note for each one. A file with the same name is never overwritten.
- Up to 2 GB per file.
Getting files from the PC
Click Files → Get from PC. A Windows Open window appears on the PC's screen: pick one or more files, and your browser downloads them.
Copied text, pictures and files are encrypted between your browser and your PC, and we never see them.
